St. Thomas the Apostle has been fortunate enough to have a dedicated group of Servers volunteering every Sunday during the 10:00am service. Each week, 2 of the volunteers rotate through to serve as either a Crucifer or Sub-Deacon. Our servers are also busy assisting at Weddings, Funerals and Special Services. During the 8:00am service one of the Lay Assistants fills this important role.
The Server’s Guild is a dedicated group of people of all ages. Even with their busy schedules they find time to help out.
We are always looking for young people interested in this enriching experience. If you would like to become a Server please contact Sean Doherty at 613.260.7511 or at Dohertys@rogers.com
The Altar Guild works faithfully under the advice and direction of the Rector to ensure that the church is properly prepared for all church seasons and services. Organized into four teams and led by experienced team leaders, the Altar Guild supports the celebration of the Eucharist and other sacraments (weddings, funerals, and others) through the preparation of the sacred vessels, linens, and candles. A specific flower team prepares lovely arrangements for the main altar and chapel at festivals and on special occasions. Altar Guild members also decorate the church for Advent and Christmas.
